’Ani Purim אֲִי פּוּרִים is one of a number of Purim songs of unrepressed joy, a mood otherwise uncommon in Jewish music.
In this arrangement, the alto melody (top staff) is sung as a four-voice round, with the second voice entering two measures after the first voice, and the third and fourth voices entering when the first and second voices respectively reach the B section. The mezzosoprano accompanies the first alto homophonically in the A section, and repeats the same harmony in the B section. If five voices are not available, the song can be sung with just the first two altos accompanied by the mezzosoprano.
