בָּרְכוּ Bàrchu (Bless!), serves as the call to תְּפִילָּה Tefilàh prayer in a Jewish service, introducing the other blessings and prayers by blessing the source of blessing. The text is traditional, from the סִידּוּר Siddur Hebrew Prayer Book.
This arrangement sets the text to a gorgeous melody in אַהֲבָה רַבָּה ’Ahavàh Rabàh mode, forming a three-part square round: first the call, then the responsive echo, and finally trailing off “forever and ever”.
